Health risks of electromagnetic fields (EMF)
Bear in mind that the EU's recommended exposure limits only protect against the immediate effects of radio and microwave radiation, as well as electric and magnetic fields. No long term effects.
Radio and microwaves
The exposure limits for radio and microwaves are 2,000,000 to 10,000,000 microwatts per square metre (µW/m2).
The Moscow embassy
Exposure from 20,000 to 130,000 µW/m2 caused poor health outcomes for embassy staff.
Bamberg report
Above 1,000 µW/m2, few were healthy. Below 10 µW/m2, no adverse effects were found in 70 per cent of examined persons.
Akrotiri and Asomatos
Up to 3.7 times more reports of migraine, headache, dizziness and depression at 862 µW/m2 compared to 0.27 µW/m2.
